The Angolan Thetha was held at the Centro de apoio aos Jovens (CAJ), in Luanda from 31 January to 1 Febrauary 2007. SANGONET held this event in partnership with Development Workshop - Angola. The aim of the forum was to provide an opportunity for civil society organisations in Angola to discuss ICT opportunities and challenges facing the sector. In particular, the forum highlighted current initiatives that seek to turn Angola into an information society. Practical sessions formed part of the event, as participants got exposed to applications that they could incorporate in their work, such as Wikis and Blogs.

Speakers included Allan Cain, Director, Development - Angola; David Barnard, Executive Director, SANGONeT, Carlos Figueredo, SNV; Dany Cadete, Commissao Nacional de Technologia e Informacao (CNTI); Will Bento Tonte, Centro de apoio aos Jovens (CAJ); Dimonekene Ditutala, (CNTI); Aune Hendrick, Techincal Assistant, SchoolNet Namibia.

The event drew around thirty participants drawn mainly from civil society organisations.
