James Theledi, newly appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Universal Services and Access Agency of South Africa (USAASA), has been confirmed as a speaker in two sessions at the Conference.
He will make a presentation about USAASA's new vision and activities in the session on "Community Access to ICTs" (Wednesday, 18 July 2007, 10h45 - 12h30), as well as participate in a panel discussion on the "Changing ICT
Environment - Challenges and Opportunities for the South African NGO Sector" during the closing plenary session (Wednesday, 18 July 2007, 15h00 - 16h00).
Before taking up his new position on 1 June 2007, he was Deputy Director - General at the Department of Public Enterprises. As part of this position he was involved in the Telkom IPO, the M-NET public offering and Arivia.kom. He was also involved in the formation of the Infrastructure Company (Infraco).
